Bad Company

‘I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news,’ said Detective Inspector Helen Shepherd. ‘We found a body on the beach this morning. We believe it is Claudia Engel. We also believe that someone murdered her.’ ‘What? McNab’s mouth fell open. ‘Claudia? I don’t believe it. It can’t be true.’ (From back cover)

I decided to read this book by the title and cover. I had not thought that this book is a mystery story. There are many characters in this story, so it was difficult for me to understand the relationships. This story is too long to read at once. It is interesting to be able to get clues as I read it. I think that Shepherd’s sergeant Webb play good roles in this story. I didn’t like mystery stories, but I want to try to read them on this occasion.

HENRY AND MUDGE and the Best Day of All

"Today in Henry's birthday and it is yhe best day ever. There are bright balloons, fun games, a yummy cake, and lots of crackers for Mudge too!" This book is very funny and there are a lot of cute and beautiful picutures in this book. I want to hold the birthday party which likes this. I didn't know piñata until now, but I want to do it someday. Reference Rylant, C. (1997). Henry and Mudge and the Best Day of All . New York, NY:Simon Spotlight.

Different Worlds

'In my world there are no birds singing. There are no noisy men working on the roads. No people leaving bars late at night shouting each other. No babies crying.' Sam is like any other teenage girl except that she was born deaf. Now she is  in love with Jim, but are their worlds too different? Sam is a woman who is deaf by nature and she is in love with a man who is working in a supermarket. She go there not so much to buy something need as to see him. This behavior is cute. This story is easy to read, but I think that there is not very much content in this story. Reference Johnson, Margaret. (2003). Different World. Cambridge; Cambridge University Press.

Shirley Homes and the Cyber Thief

"Shirley Homes, private investigator.Like Sherlock Holmes a hundred years ago, she lives in London, enjoys working on difficult cases, and hassome helpful friends. She understands people, is a good listener, and of course, she is clever with computers. In today's world that is important, because a lot of crime is cyber crime." ( From the book cover) The unfolding of this book is  very interesting for me, but it is difficult for me to maintain concentration to read this book. I was recommended this book by Asahi, and I am interested in cyber crime and I like using computers, so I thought I want to read this book. I want to be a cooporative person like Shirley Homes.
